RELATIONS WITH SWEDEN

flagsMonaco has established relations with Sweden since long. Monaco opened an honorary consulate in Sweden already in 1874.

Since 2008, the Swedish ambassador to France is also accredited to Monaco. Sweden also has a consul general in Monaco. Today, around 300 Swedes live in Monaco.

An information exchange agreement was concluded between Sweden and Monaco in 2010, which entered into force on January 1, 2011. The agreement allows Sweden to exchange information in the tax field with Monaco according to the internationally recognized standard of the OECD.

Sweden and Monaco cooperate in the areas of trade, and in environmental matters. In 2017, a bilateral conference in Monaco was organized on the theme of protecting the seas.

As part of this event, a business dialogue between Swedish and Monegasque companies was organised. The following year, a Monegasque trade delegation visited Sweden for meetings with Swedish companies.

In March 2023 a meeting was held between Monaco Economic Board and Business Sweden to promote trade and investment between Monaco and Sweden, and meetings between the Bar Associations of the two countries.
